Otis From Reading
“Seen to be relieved”
Otis from Reading are the pioneers of ‘cruise ship indie’; a sultry blend of the smooth jazz sounds of the Doobie brothers on a cigarette break combined with the chaotic noisy indie rock of Sugar Ray Leonard. Less yacht rock and more a tugboat ferry off the bay of biscay.
This 6 piece, will entertain with tongues wedged in cheek lyrics and playful musicianship. Their frenetic energy and heartfelt vocals will move you more places than a witness protection programme. Leaving you with just the question ‘Who is Otis from Reading?’
“you’re surprisingly good”
“Great and funny”
Finally, a band for the faint hearted and those with a nervous disposition.
Live credits so far include
Headlining Abbeyfield community festival, Abbeydale festival. Tramlines fringe at Triple point brewery
Sell out shows at The Harlequin, Hallamshire Hotel, Alder bar.
KIZMET came alive AGAIN to tame the beast in the heart of your fáyre Steel City & will not stop until regional success + a spot in the Sheffield pop charts is assured. WE PLAY WHIMSY SLEAZE MUSIC AND WE DO NOT DO WEDDINGS/FUNERALS/CARWASHES or CARCRASHES
DJ Jonaxthan – Artist and performer DJ Jonaxthan plays for you retro, chanson, wunderkitsch, synth, italo and his signature sweet disco
“Constantly tempted by big impassioned, sweeping sentimental soarers, hairbrush anthems and torch songs from every era. Castanets and handclaps. Sing-alongs – the instrumental versions. Divas. Catchy synth riffs but not the ones that you know. Songs you think you might know but sung in a different language, and you haven’t brought your dictionary, and it doesn’t matter anyway because you are dancing!”
